Recently I’ve discovered the Face recognition service from MyHeritage. It’s an amazing ideea, implemented in a very beautiful and intuitive Graphic User Interface(GUI) but in my opinion with a short life. It’s addictive but still…
What Face Recognition does is search it’s database for celebrities looking like you. So go ahead and try it! (You will need a to be a registred user).
The system is nice implemented but it has some funny lacks of credibility. We’ve searched for the first decent(in size) Bill Gates photography on the Internet and test the software. So… our picture with bill gates matches 90 percent to … Bill Gates. A big 10% of mistake even if the photography in taken from a correct angle. It probably will give you a bigger percentage of mistake if the photography is taken from a different angle. So a 15-20 percentage can be expected(from my statistical point of view).
In conclusion I think MyHeritage did a greate job with this service and they will have more exposure to the public.
